Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most about custom wooden wine, spirit, and gift boxes. Still have a question? Get a quote and we’ll get back to you directly.

Materials & Construction

What makes your box joint construction different from other wood boxes?

Box-joint (finger-joint) construction, no nails or staples — interlocking wood teeth are stronger and more durable, and read as more premium than a stapled or nailed box.

What wood do you use?

Eastern White Pine — Ontario's official arboreal emblem — is our standard material. Cherry, Maple, and Black Walnut are available for premium projects.

Do you offer standard-size wooden boxes, or only custom?

Both. We manufacture a range of standard wooden wine and gift box sizes — often a more economical choice if one suits your product — through fully bespoke one-off designs and commercial-volume repeat programs, with custom sizing available either way.

Can you make custom inserts and dividers?

Yes. We can design custom inserts, yokes, and dividers to position bottles, glassware, products, accessories, and other contents within the box.

Branding & Personalization

What branding methods do you offer, and how do they differ?

Wood-imprint branding uses a 20-ton heat press that deboss-stamps up to 10" × 15" — it's more economical for runs over 12 boxes, and the branding plate is reusable, making repeat orders even more economical.

Laser engraving is better for smaller runs of 12 or fewer since there's no branding-plate charge. It's ideal for sequential numbering (for example, 14/100) and personalization, such as adding a name.

We'll recommend the best method based on your artwork, quantity, and desired appearance.

Can you add our logo to the box?

Yes. Custom branding is available on every box style, using either commercial laser engraving or traditional wood-imprint branding, both done in-house. Logos, company names, artwork, messages, and other graphics can be applied depending on the box design. We'll email you a branding or laser-engraving layout for your approval before production.

What file format do you need for my logo or artwork?

Submit artwork as a one-colour vector file (EPS, Illustrator, or PDF) with text converted to curves. We can brand or laser engrave logos, messages, or both.

What finish options are available?

Natural Pine (no finish); an oil finish in Antique Pine or Walnut, both eco-friendly and non-toxic; or an aniline stain, a more affordable option with a rustic look.

Ordering & Production

What's your minimum order quantity?

Our minimum order for wine boxes is 12. We handle everything from bespoke one-off projects to commercial-volume and repeat production programs — contact us with your estimated quantity and we'll recommend the most economical approach.

What's the typical turnaround/lead time?

Standard wine boxes with sliding lids are generally in stock and can ship within a few days; add a few weeks if branding, laser engraving, or oiling is required. Production time otherwise depends on the box design, quantity, branding, finishing, and current production schedule.

If you have a required delivery date, include it with your quote request so we can confirm an appropriate schedule — rush production may be available depending on capacity.

Can I get a sample or prototype before committing to a full order?

Yes — you can purchase a sample of our standard, in-stock boxes. Depending on the project, we can also produce prototypes or pre-production units before a full production run; prototype and setup charges may apply.

Do you ship outside Canada?

Yes. We ship to contiguous United States of America. Our Canadian-made products qualify for duty-free entry into the U.S. where applicable under current trade requirements.

What We Make

Can you make boxes for wine and spirits?

Yes — wine and spirit packaging is one of our specialties. We manufacture wooden boxes for wine, champagne, whisky, spirits, and other specialty bottle formats, customizable with branding, engraving, inserts, dividers, handles, hardware, and finishes.

Do you make wooden boxes for products other than bottles?

Absolutely. We've manufactured wooden presentation and packaging solutions for food products, corporate gifts, promotional products, glassware, clothing, collectibles, and many other products. If it fits in a box, there's a good chance we can design one for it.

Working With Us

Where are the boxes made?

Manufactured in-house in Ontario — no brokers or overseas subcontracting between your order and the production floor.

Can you help us design the box?

Yes. You don't need a finished engineering drawing to get started — our team can assist with box dimensions, construction, CAD design, inserts, material selection, branding placement, and other production considerations to turn your concept into a manufacturable wooden box.

Can you work with advertising agencies and packaging designers?

Yes. We regularly work with advertising agencies, designers, marketing teams, and brand managers — manufacturing from supplied concepts and specifications, or collaborating with you on box construction, dimensions, inserts, branding, and production requirements.

Can you keep our specifications for future orders?

Yes. Repeat programs are an important part of our business. Once specifications and branding requirements are established, we maintain the project information to make future reorders straightforward and consistent.

How do I get a quote for a custom wooden box?

Send us the basic details of your project: what the box will hold, product or inside dimensions, approximate quantity, preferred box style, branding or engraving requirements, desired finish, required delivery date, and delivery location. If you have photographs, drawings, artwork, or an existing sample, include those as well.

From there, we can recommend a construction and provide pricing for your project.
